Visiting the parishioners is a pivotal part of pastoral oversight in TMC PJ. Visitations are made on a weekly basis.
Visitations are primarily for those who are aged, unwell and homebound. A time of worship is shared with those visited and, as is appropriate, the Holy Communion will also be celebrated and served. These visitations provide an opportunity for pastoral care to be issued and the connection between those visited and the community of faith be kept.
Visitations are also made beyond the scheduled times, such as for those outside the community of faith after their needs are made known, especially for prayer, for the sharing of the Gospel or simply to lend comfort in times of crisis. As Jesus visited different ones in their homes, the Visitation Ministry seeks to “bring Christ” to the lives and homes of those visited.
