Delicious providence

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. (Genesis 9:3 ESV)

After the flood the LORD made his covenant with Noah for future generations. To be fruitful and multiply. To be righteous, to fear God and to not murder. God’s creation will now be the steward of all that He created. In order that we may sustain ourselves physically He gave to us the right to consume all plants and every moving thing as food.

It is very moving to know that our LORD is so involved with His creation. At the time of Moses, the LORD would further guide us by telling us what is acceptable as food and what isn’t. This is truly remarkable.

Some videogamers like a particular genre called “simulated life” where the crux of the game is really to manage virtual people. Clothe them, feed them, and so on but other than that, there is no more involvement. Sometimes, players completely forgot to feed their virtual counterparts and cause their virtual demise!

But our God is right here with us. He has prepared for us everything there is and He guides us how to use them.

1) Thank the LORD for his providence.

2) Pray for forgiveness as man sought unequal measures in the distribution of what God has given us.

3) Pray for nations undergoing drought and famine.
