What is the Girls’ Brigade
The Girls’ Brigade is an international, interdenominational Christian youth non-profit uniformed body founded by Ms Margaret Lyttle in 1893 in Dublin, Ireland.
Aim of the Girls’ Brigade
To help girls to become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through self-control, reverence, and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life.
Our Motto
Seek, Serve, and Follow Christ
Principles
The Four Square Programme
The Four Square Programme is a holistic framework of The Girls’ Brigade, designed to support the all-round development of every girl. It focuses on 4 major areas: Spiritual, Physical, Educational, and Social (SPES). Through a variety of activities and experiences, girls are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God, develop healthy and active lifestyles, gain knowledge and practical skills, and learn to serve others in their church and community. Together, these four areas aim to nurture girls into confident, responsible, and well-rounded individuals who live out the Girls’ Brigade motto, “Seek, Serve and Follow Christ.”
