Pastoral Letter dated 20 August 2021.
Greetings in the name of the Precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We praise the Lord for watching over our Church in spite of the challenges we are facing during this Covid-19 pandemic. Over the past two years, many of our ministries and activities have been curbed but not forgotten. One of these is the restoration planned in 2018 for our well-loved Sanctuary One built in the 1960s. The Restoration Task Force set up by the LCEC and headed by Dr Surendran Thuraisingham had been investing best efforts in determining the work required and as well as to select the project contractor to carry out the work during this window of opportunity presented by restrictions of the Government’s SOP that does not permit us to carry our any in-church activities. As such, the restoration works will not disrupt any normal Church activities.
The LCEC has now embarked on fund-raising to support the restoration work which covers not only the repair of the roof but also replacing all the old electrical wiring and equipment as well as upgrading the interior. The contract cost of RM2.35 million is an investment to ensure that the Sanctuary will retain its future usefulness as a much loved centre of Worship, Baptisms, Weddings and Final Farewells amongst other roles it has wonderfully played in the past 60 plus years.
As we embark on this project, we embark on it fully dependent on God’s guidance and blessings as one body in Christ. The TMC community of faith comes together to glorify our Lord as refurbish His House of Worship and Prayer.
The Pastoral Team and Leadership therefore seek your prayers and support so that in all ways we are united in our efforts.
May the Lord be pleased with our love for Him.
In Christ’s name,
Rev Paul S Christie
